The Warwick Area Career and Technical Center students were awarded 11 gold medals, 9 silver medals, 7 bronze medals and a gold ribbon in the SkillsUSA award ceremony April 4 at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. SkillsUSA competitions took place over the course of the month of March. Gold Medal winners will be going on to the 53rd National Leadership and Skills Conference held in Louisville, Kentucky. The students are expected to compete in a weeklong event with over 16,000 spectators. Medallists pictured are in row 1: Daniel Dwyer, Madison Jackson, Makenna Fortini, Braelyn Caddick, Vanessa Betancourt, and Jason Rathbun; in row 2, Jayce Correira, Addison Oliveira, Andrew Fredricks, Jackson Wayss, Kristen Lussier, Skye Whelpley, Katrina Marsden, and Matthew Virian; in row 3, Ryan Mclean, Brendan Lewis, Nicholas Horne, Nicholas Garvey, James Richardson, Jakob Francois, Elizabeth Smith, Callie DeBois, Anthony Oliver, Ryan Emilio, and Brian Bourgault. The Career and Tech Center has some upcoming fundraising events including the Flapjack Breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. at Applebees on April 30 and the Annual Golf Fundraiser June 3 at the Cranston Country Club.
