School Department Coordinator of Safety and Security Daniel Maggiacomo will conduct a school safety forum on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. for Cedar Hill School parents at the school. This is a first for Warwick schools and possibly the state.

Maggiacomo, who retired last September after a 20 year career with the Warwick Police Department, said Wednesday that the discussion will focus on fire and lock down drills as well as communications between parents and children in the event and the role of school social workers in dealing with stressful situations; a primary purpose of the forum is to open communications with parents. Maggiacomo said School Principal Fred Schweizer assisted in formatting the forum and will play a role in the program. He believes principals from other Warwick elementary schools as well as those from outside the district may attend.
