It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Walter T. Scott passed away on April 13, 2024, at his companion's home in Berlin, MA.
Walter was a well-known, long-time resident of Warwick RI, growing up in the Conimicut section. He was a man of many talents as well as being known for his huge heart in helping others. He did more in his life than many can hope to do. He was a friend to many, a fisherman, a decorated Warwick Fire Department volunteer, an underwater salvage diver (scuba) as well as a scuba diving instructor and a National Guardsman. He retired from Electric Boat as a shipfitter. Boating was always a pleasure to him as well as camping in his RV. In his retirement. he worked on RVs for several years.
Walter was predeceased by his wife Thelma S Scott and was the companion of Jackie Baird for several years. He was also predeceased by his youngest daughter Margaret J. Gerard. He is survived by his son Walter T. Scott Jr. (Ruth), and daughter Deborah L. Botelho. Grandchildren - Jennifer, Melissa, Rebecca, Vanessa, Walter C, Kayla and Michael. Great grandchildren - Jarod, Walter C. Jr. and Barbara.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Barrett and Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, followed by a graveside Celebration of Life at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston, RI.
