(Raunchy, revolting, ridiculous)
Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel star as a married couple with two kids who see romance slipping from their lives.
A ridiculous opening sequence shows the audience that their earlier sex life was very active and frequent. We could have done without that. Actually, we could have done without the entire movie.
Annie and Jay drop the kids off at her mothers for a night of fun and games, making their own little sex tape. Somehow, the tape ends up on the screens of people that would be shocked by what they see: neighbors, potential employers, relatives, etc.
What to do? Drop the kids at moms’ again and hit the road, trying to recoup their iPads.
First stop is Annie’s potential client (Rob Lowe), where Jay gets chased around the house by his dog while Annie gets high on coke. Talk about ridiculous!
Their neighbor’s obnoxious kid tries to bribe them, while their neighbors (Rob Corddry and Ellie Kemper) get off on watching the tape. More ridiculous!
Meanwhile, Annie and Jay argue about whose fault this is. How about the writers.
This revolting movie ends up with an even more ridiculous scene with an uncredited Jack Black, followed by more ridiculous outtakes.
Rated R for profanity, nudity, raunchy sex and drug use.
