Lillian Frances (Lineham) Sherman, age 100, passed away at Kent Hospital on September 28, 2024. Born in Warwick on July 27, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Ellery Dewey Lineham and Eva May Lineham. She was born and raised in Apponaug and spent most of her life living in the area of Mary’s Creek.
Lillian was a strong independent woman and was known to be a “do it your selfer”. She would attempt and accomplish any task on her own and did it her way.
She would often talk about what life was like during the Great Depression and World War II. She was married to the late William Sherman on December 1, 1944. She was primarily a homemaker and after marriage worked as a housekeeper for various clients.
She is preceded in death by her sisters Catherine Lineham, Doris May (Lineham) Fairman and a brother Ellery Dewey Lineham, Jr. She leaves behind a daughter Doris Eva Sherman and various nephews, nieces and cousins. Her spirit joins those she loved who passed on before her.
Funeral Service Friday, October 4th at noon at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in Brayton Cemetery, Warwick. Visitation prior to the service from 10-12pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886.
