On the second Thursday of every month, musicians from all over Cranston gather at the Artist Exchange for their Songwriters in the Round workshop. At each event four people, a host and three musicians, write songs about a topic of their choosing. Audience members then vote on their favorite. Finally, everyone writes down an idea on a card, all of which will be considered for the theme of the next meeting. In addition to creating music, at each Rhode Island Songwriters meeting, non-perishable food items are collected to donate to a local foodbank.
