The Charles Sullivan Fund for the Arts and Humanities in cooperation with the Community College of Rhode Island Performing Arts Department and the CCRI Players present Broadway actress, recording artist, YouTube sensation and master vocal teacher Natalie Weiss.

On Thursday, March 20, Ms. Weiss will conduct a master class in vocal performance. In the master class, Natalie will work with selected singers, coaching them in the performance of numbers that they have prepared. The program will also include a segment of Natalie’s unique and highly popular Internet series, “Breaking Down the Riffs,” as well as a question & answer session.

On Friday, March 21, Ms. Weiss will perform “In Concert: An Evening with Natalie Weiss.” Accompanied by Lila Kane on keyboard and Michael Goldberg on drums, Natalie will perform selections that she has presented in concerts and cabarets in New York City, Toronto and all around the country.

Weiss recently completed a 2½-year run performing multiple ensemble roles on the “Les Miserables” 25th anniversary tour. In 2010 she made her Broadway debut understudying the Menonettes in “Everyday Rapture,” starring Sherie Rene Scott. She also performed in the ensemble and understudied Elphaba in the 2nd national tour of “Wicked.” She was an “American Idol” season 4 semi-finalist, has performed the National Anthem at Dallas Cowboys games and at Shea Stadium, but is most well known for her YouTube videos. She has gained an international following from her performance videos and popular web series, “Breaking Down The Riffs,” which have collectively reached over three million views. Natalie released her self-titled debut CD in early 2011 and has been giving sold-out solo concerts and master classes across the country.

The program will be performed in the Bobby Hackett Theatre at the Knight Campus, located at 400 East Ave., Warwick. Admission for both the master class and the concert is free, and no advance reservations are needed. Doors will open both evenings at 7 p.m.
