Stanley A Charron, age 94, passed away Wednesday July 28th, 2021 at Elmwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born February 13, 1927 in Pawtucket, RI, he was the eldest son of Jean P. and Anna A. (Szurley) Charron.

Stanley had many interests throughout his life. As a child, he once brought the family chickens into the house to sleep under his bed to keep them safe, his mother wasn't pleased. In his youth he developed and printed his own photos. Any car he ever owned was his pride and joy.

He married his first wife, Winona, in 1948. He became a certified metallurgist and worked for Lincoln Dimensional Tube, Inc. until he retired in 1992. In the 1950’s and 60’s in Lincoln he was a volunteer fireman for Fairlawn, organized and coached teen baseball, organized trout derbies, and was instrumental in upgrading Lincoln playgrounds and opening an indoor recreation center. Stanley and Nona bowled in a league and enjoyed musicals at the Warwick Musical Theater. They brought their children to Scarborough Beach, where Stanley loved to body surf the waves. Every year the family vacationed in York Beach, ME. Besides more body surfing, eating steamers and fisherman's platters, and pitching family baseball games on the beach, he got a great tan.

Stanley loved gardening and had a green thumb; he grew plants and trees wherever he lived and sent long letters to family with pictures to show what he grew. In the 1980’s Stanley transferred to Greenville, Mississippi with the copper tubing company. There he met and married his second wife, Lucille. They loved to travel. Every year they drove from Mississippi to RI to see his children and grandchildren, stopping at yard sales the whole way. He visited Penny in St. Croix, Florida and Indiana, and his brothers in Ohio and Tacoma, WN. Stanley returned to Rhode Island at age 87, lived with Marcia in Warwick and got to know his grandchildren and great-grandson. He visited Maine with his son Craig, made new friends, went on a few more fishing trips and spent warm days at Conimicut Point enjoying the Bay views.

Stanley was the beloved father of Marcia L. Pena, Craig P. Charron (Barbara), Karl C. Charron, and Priscilla D. McCloud (Terry); grandfather of Alex, Daryl, Dahlia and Kyle; brother to Jean and Theodore (Ted) Charron and the late Chester and Evariste Charron and Dorothy Luttrell. He is survived by six great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. His funeral service was held privately.

Stanley lived a full life and gave a lot to his community. “Rest in Peace, Dad!” You are greatly missed.
