Stanley Brookes Reed, 94, passed away Wednesday April 8, 2020 at the Inova Fairfax VA Hospital.
Stanley was born June 10, 1925 to Robert L. Reed and Esther L. (Brookes) Reed in Pawtucket, RI.
Stanley served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. He married his wife Katherine Brunlick of 60 years Pawtucket, RI in 1950. They later moved to Providence and settled in Cranston where they raised their family.
Stanley began his lifetime career at Pawtucket Fasteners where he worked in accounting for 38 years until his retirement. Apart from working, Stanley (introduced by himself as Stan the Man) enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to go for walks on the Pawtuxet breakwater with his beloved cocker spaniel Penny, showing off his Red Sox hat in Yankee territory, and listening to Classical Music. He also spent most of his retirement years volunteering at the Cranston Meals on Wheels.
Stan is predeceased by his wife, Katherine. He is survived by; son, Allen R. Reed and his wife Wendy, NH; daughter, Linda G. Marcotte (Reed) and husband Brian, VA; and his beloved grandchildren; Phillip Reed and wife Alicia, Jared Marcotte and wife Paige, Sheila Fournier (Reed), and Taylor Conrady (Marcotte) and husband Jonathan and Philip Dawson: great grandchildren Katherine Reed and Dustin Fournier.
A private celebration of life service will be held later.
