Veteran Republican City Councilwoman Sue Stenhouse, who was the Republican candidate for Secretary of State in 2006, will serve as the honorary chair of Mayor Scott Avedisian’s re-election campaign.
Stenhouse was first elected to the Warwick City Council in a special election in 2000. She was re-elected in 2000, 2002, and 2004. On the City Council she worked on behalf of airport expansion, economic development, and senior services.
She also served in the administration of former Governor Donald Carcieri and is currently the Executive Director of Senior Services for Mayor Allan Fung in Cranston.
“Sue and I have been closely aligned on many issues,” Avedisian said. “We worked well together during her years on the City Council and in her efforts for the governor. Lately, it has been great to work with her on consolidating senior services and enhancing senior services by collaborating with the city of Cranston.”
“I look forward to providing the campaign with direction and to assist in making sure that Mayor Avedisian is re-elected,” Stenhouse said.
