Richard J. Stublarec, 80, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary R. (Holland) Stublarec.
Richard was born January 6, 1943, in Johnstown, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Lugar) Stublarec. He was a 1960 graduate of Johnstown High School and completed coursework in Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Putnam.
Richard worked in food service management for 36 years and was a realtor with Coldwell Banker for 15 years before his retirement.
He is survived by his children Stephen Stublarec and his wife Maria, Joseph Stublarec and his wife Valerie, Mary Ann Quinn and her husband Tom, Beth Caskey and her husband Jordan. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his sister Bernadette Foelsing and his brother Raymond Stublarec.
Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren deeply. He loved driving his Ford Mustang with his wife Mary, with the top down and music on. He was an excellent cook, enjoyed working in the yard, watching his Pittsburgh Steelers, and reading. Richard and his wife enjoyed volunteering at their parish church as eucharistic ministers for St. Paul’s church and volunteered for Crossroads. He will be deeply missed by his loving community of neighbors.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday September 29, 2023, 4-6:30 p.m., with a Funeral Home Service at 6:30 pm at the Barrett and Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Burial with military honors will be private.
