Art representing every school across the city is now on display for the Cranston Public Schools' citywide visual arts exhibition at the Central Library in Cranston. The opening reception for ArtsFest 2018 took place Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 and was extremely well-received by the public as guests filled the room, taking in the exceptional display of student talent ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade. Art teachers from all over the district could be seen greeting and congratulating their present and former students, and posing for photos. "I'm so thrilled to see so many people here and fighting for parking spots, filling the room to support student art," said Libby Slader, Chairperson of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. "Supporting funding for art programs in schools is so important in developing ceitical thinking and creative skills beyond the visual." The student artwork will be on display at the library until March 28.
