‘Summer Sizzler’ shows planned at Ciara Restaurant & Lounge

Big name music and entertainment will soon be coming to Johnston.

Attorney E.J. Terry McEnaney III and Bobby Nicholson, who own and operate InsideOut Productions, recently announced four outdoor “Summer Sizzler” concerts at Ciara Restaurant & Lounge, located at 678 Killingly St.

McEnaney, an accomplished Italian rapper/comedian who performs under the name Bobby Braciola, and his working partner Nicholson will present their first show on Saturday evening, June 4, beginning at 6 p.m. in the spacious Ciara parking lot.

The InsideOut tandem, which is working with Ciara co-owners Michael Barone and Steve Catanzaro on the unique venture, recently received unanimous approval from the Johnston Town Council for what is believed will be the first outdoor entertainment venue of its kind in town.

“A lot of people are really, really excited about the concerts,” McEnaney said. “We’ll be bringing some big name groups and vocalists to town. If you like different kinds of music, we’ll have that all-inclusive in our shows.”

Tribeca, one of New England’s most sought after bands, will serve as the opening act. The group consists of vocalist Chops Tuner, Breana Marie, and keyboard player Danny Tuirok.

McEnaney added: “During our shows, we’ll have dance music under the stars with music by D-Train, Brother-to-Brother, Sarah Barbosa, and much, much more. Our shows will be top-shelf.”

InsideOut Productions’ first-ever attempt at staging such shows came when McEnaney and Nicholson co-hosted a 24-hour benefit to raise money for a music school.

“We had 16 different groups perform,” McEnaney said. “That was a big, big benefit, and we’re proud to announce that all profits raised during the ‘Summer Sizzler’ shows will also be going to a non-profit right here in Johnston.”

McEnaney and Nicholson the first four shows will benefit the Johnston Senior Center.

The second “Summer Sizzler” is scheduled for Saturday, July 16, and will feature “The Paisans of Comedy,” and such notable entertainers as Frank Santorelli from “The Sopranos,” John Perrotta – the “Italian Don Rickles” – and local comedian David DiLorenzo.

Although InsideOut Productions hasn’t announced the other two dates, McEnaney and Nicholson did say they’ve lined up music icons like Tavares, Lisa Lisa, and the Cover Girls.

Admission for the June 4 show is $20 per person, and that includes a free community cookout. Ciara will also be open throughout all four shows.
