The Rocky Point 5k was held on Saturday, and a few of the competitors looked a little bit different than everybody else.
Fourteen people dressed up like superheroes for the event as part of a movement with the foundation “IRun4You.” The foundation matches up able-bodied runners with children who have various ailments, and the runners dedicate their running to the child, known as a “buddy.”
For the Rocky Point race, the runners all asked their buddies who their favorite superhero was, and then dressed up as that character and took to the road. Pictured, Denise Pappa, Nicole Walker, Johna Munson, Sue Henderson, Robert Henderson, Susan Nguon, Sara Fredette, Samantha Kerwin, Deborah Batista, Kara Fay, Pauline Imbruglia, Michael Imbruglia, Sandra Cerito, Taylor Filipe.
