Most people live in boxes upon
Boxes like gerbils in cages,
While others live in fortresses upon rocks
And plan everyone’s lives through the ages. The media and Hollywood love these wanna be stars
Who spout their views
For all to hear,
While the unknowns ride their bars
And quietly live the Good News. This Good News, who is Jesus
Became part of the wheel
And spoke his heart day after day
With nothing but good
A Light, a ray. Two thousand years later through wars, toil, and sweat
The wanna be twinkles fade
But Jesus’ words still keep the motion that the winds bade
And the hearts of the poor
And all their needs are met. For the real star is the Star of David
Not the fake ones that Hollywood follows
But the humble One born in a stable
The Mighty, True One that God gave us
And we sent to the gallows. We mostly achieve small things in life
But sometimes we build cities and towns
Sometimes they last and sometimes they fall down
But that which is God’s kingdom
Will never die but eternally abound.
