Since summertime is the perfect time for thrilling suspense movies, the Warwick Public Library has transformed its August crime film, “Zodiac,” into its own electrifying, four-part mini-series at Warwick Public Library on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.

On July 30, 2024, see “The Fugitive” (1993), featuring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. Wrongly convicted of murdering his wife, Dr. Richard Kimble escapes from custody and begins searching for his wife’s one-armed killer while U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard and his expert team track Kimble down.

On August 6, watch “Cast Away” (2000), featuring Tom Hanks and Wilson. Federal Express troubleshooter Chuck Noland proposes to his girlfriend, gets on a plane that crashes in the Pacific Ocean, drifts to a remote island far from civilization, and fights to survive on his own without help or human contact.

On August 13, view “Zodiac” (2007), featuring Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey, Jr., and Jake Gyllenhaal. Two San Francisco police detectives, a reporter, and an editorial cartoonist spend years searching for Zodiac, the real-life serial killer who taunted his pursuers with cypher-filled letters.

On August 20, follow “The Revenant” (2015), featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy. Mauled by a grizzly bear and buried alive by fellow fur trapper John Fitzgerald, Hugh Glass survives and tracks Fitzgerald across the boundless and unforgiving American frontier to get his revenge.

Comedies and Crime: A Film Series plays on:

Aug. 13 “Zodiac”

Sept. 17 “The Royal Tenenbaums”

Oct. 8 “Kiss Me Deadly”

Nov. 12 “The Cameraman”

Dec. 10 “The Thin Man”

For more information, call (401) 739-5440, x9758. The Library is located at 600 Sandy Lane, Warwick.

This event is free and open to all.
