To the Editor:
I would like to comment on two front-page articles concerning HPV immunizations for all 7th graders appearing in last week’s Beacon.
First of all, a mandate of forced vaccination is unconstitutional. Secondly, the integrity of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) has been compromised and stretched beyond credulity.
As recently as July 29 of this year, Bill Cosey (R-FL) rose from the House floor and called for an investigation of the CDC in its cover-up of a study done in 2006 by Dr. William Thompson and others of the effects and connections of the MMR vaccine to autism. As a whistle-blower, Dr. Thompson confirmed that the destruction of incriminating data had been attempted by him and his colleagues.
Therefore, if this is the modus operandi of the CDC, why should anyone, especially parents, believe anything that comes from the lips of this agency regarding the safety of the HPV vaccine? And the possible side effects? Horrendous.
There are 28 independent scientific studies that have shown that there is a direct link between the increase of mercury and thimerosal in vaccines and the increase in cases of autism since the 1980s. The CDC has consistently and vehemently denied this fact. Coincidentally, the levels of allowable mercury and thimerosal added to vaccines as preservatives were significantly increased in the 1980s.
Predictably, the “scientific” studies that found no correlation between thimerosal and autism were funded by the pharmaceutical companies themselves. No surprise there. The CDC is just one more federal agency in the back pocket of Big Pharma with legions of lobbyists doing its bidding in Washington through the well-paid efforts of our duly elected representatives.
Parents must be aware of the dangers of any vaccine pushed by the CDC before making a decision to have their child vaccinated. And these vaccinations should not be compulsory.
We Americans tend to be the most uninformed, ill-informed, misinformed people on the planet, but we can no longer afford to wallow in our own ignorance when it concerns the health and well-being of our children.
