Serina Vieira, assistant manager of Webster’s Bald Hill Road banking center in Warwick, is the first recipient of Webster Bank’s new Best Community Banker award. The quarterly program recognizes a retail banker who has demonstrated exceptional customer service.
In October 2014, Vieira’s keen eye for detail and fluency in Portuguese helped save a non-English speaking customer, who had fallen on hard times, from losing her home to foreclosure. Working as a translator and intermediary with Webster’s restructure and recovery department, she played an integral role in halting the foreclosure process and helping the customer get onto a new payment plan. As a result, the customer was able to remain in her home and celebrate the holidays there with her family.
Vieira joined Webster as a teller at the Bald Hill banking center in 2012 and was promoted to assistant manager in January 2015. A 2011 graduate of Warwick’s Pilgrim High School, she currently resides in Cranston and attends the Community College of Rhode Island.
