The Warwick girls’ hockey team has become one of the best in the state over the past few years, and they’ll be holding a fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 10 in hopes of raising money for new jerseys and equipment for the upcoming season.
The fundraiser is a wine tasting event at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The players on the team have been able to raise approximately $18,000 worth of live and silent auction items for the event, which will be emceed by local comedian and Warwick fireman Wild Bill Simas. The Dennis Pratt Trio has also donated its time and will be playing live jazz.
There will be food courtesy of Rhodes and Russell Morin Fine Catering, and plenty of wine. The Warwick Girls’ Ice Hockey Club is a certified 501c3 charitable organization, so all donations that night will be tax deductible.
Tickets can be purchased through any of the hockey players or parents, or by visiting the Warwick Girls Ice Hockey Club Wine Tasting page on Facebook.
