The Warwick North 11/12-year-old softball All-Stars were honored at City Hall by Mayor Scott Avedisian on Thursday afternoon.
The team recently won the East Regional and will be representing the state and the region at the World Series in Portland, Ore., this week.
Every member of the team received citations from Avedisian.
Warwick North is the first team from Rhode Island to make it to the World Series since 1979, and the first team from Warwick to make it there.
It will begin play at the World Series on Friday at 7 p.m. against Europe-Africa.
Below is Avedisian posing for a photo with the team.
At bottom, Warwick manager Kevin DeTroia addresses media and fans.
