The Washington Trust Company has been recognized with an Exemplary Worksite Health Award from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) and the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber) for effective programs encouraging employee health and well-being in a meaningful way.
Washington Trust was one of more than 75 Rhode Island businesses honored by BCBSRI and the Chamber with a Worksite Health Award at a recent breakfast attended by hundreds of state business leaders. The event celebrated local businesses that have demonstrated a commitment to improving Rhode Islanders' overall health through innovative wellness programs.
"We believe that it's important to invest in the health and wellness of our workforce," said Kristen L. DiSanto, executive vice president of human resources for Washington Trust. "It's encouraging to see so many of our employees embracing our Wellness Program. It's also exciting to see employees share stories about their personal wellness journey – quitting smoking, increasing activity, losing weight, having a screening that changed their health, etc. Many of these stories have been a catalyst to get others on the path to wellness."
