Washington Trust and Rhode Island Housing will host a free reverse mortgage seminar Thursday, May 23 at 10 a.m. at Washington Trust’s Warwick branch, 236 Centerville Road, Warwick.
The seminars will focus on helping homeowners, age 62 and older, to determine if a reverse mortgage is right for them. The program explains how homeowners may access the equity in their homes to supplement retirement income, finance home renovations or pay for long-term health care coverage.

Reverse mortgages are designed as financial assistance for people 62 years or older. The reverse mortgage works by allowing the homeowner access to the equity in their home without the issues of a monthly payment for the available funds.
