Charles E. Watterson, age 87, of Warwick, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Estelle (Tatro) Watterson.
Always a hard worker, Charles was a member of the United States National Guard. He worked at Rocky Point as a ride operator for fifteen years, Masen Can for twenty years, and Stylecraft Inc. as a Press Operator for twenty years prior to his retirement.
When Charles was not working, he enjoyed the simple pleasures in life playing cards, fishing and being by the water. He loved to play Bingo and was even deemed the nickname “Bingo” by his neighbors at Meadowbrook Terrace. He had a kind heart, and was always loving to those close to him.
He is survived by his children, Alfred Watterson and his wife Deborah, Dawn Watterson, Audrey Watterson, and Paul Watterson and his wife Susan; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Charles Watterson Jr.
A funeral service will be held for him on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 7:00pm in the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation will be held prior from 6:00-7:00pm. Burial Private.
