Fresh produce from Westbay Community Action’s farm will be sold this year at a Farmers’ Market at Kent Hospital on Thursdays, beginning June 13, from noon to 6 p.m. at the entrance of the hospital’s lunch room. Posters will publicize the Farmers’ Market among hospital staffers.
Westbay Farmer Steve Stycos, together with many loyal volunteers, worked to harvest more than 11,000 pounds of produce last summer from the farm’s three-acre fields and three greenhouses.
Much of the produce went to Westbay Market Place and was given to clients needing assistance.
Altogether, the farm raised more than $8,000 for Westbay Community Action.
