Where’s the fire?

That was the question customers leaving Dave’s Bar and Grill asked when confronted by a cloud of white smoke on Saturday afternoon. There was more to it than smoke. There was the throaty rumble of engines and the squeal of smoking tires. It was a rally sponsored by the adjoining shop, Bad Mouth Bikes at 2329 Post Road. A section of the back street was fenced off and motorcyclists took turns revving engines and spinning out for onlookers who kept their distance. Tented tables with displays welcomed those arriving at the Post Road entry to the shop. Maybe they had picked up on the “Hail the Season Event” promoted on the BMB website with the warning “prepare yourself for the usual shenanigans,” or like others let their curiosity get the best of them. In part the BMB mission statement reads: “We will continually strive to be a leader in the motorcycle industry through the innovation, development, and improvement of our services by using the latest technologies.” They put them to the test on Saturday.
