William Stafford Bishop

William Stafford Bishop, age 62, of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of Judith Johnson Bishop. He was the father of John W. Bishop.

Born in Providence, the son of the late William F. and Dorothy M. (Hultenius) Bishop, he was a life-long Warwick resident.

He was the owner of Bishop & Weeden Fire Protection in Warwick for the last 26 years. Pawtuxet Village was an important part of his life. The annual Gaspee Days Parade was one of the highlights of his life. He was a member of the Warwick Firefighters Association, the Pawtuxet Volunteer Fire Co., the Pawtuxet Athletic Club, Harmony Lodge # 9 F. & A.M., and the Rhode Island Shriners.

In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by a sister, Kristine Bishop Chapman and her husband Gary, of Wakefield; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 28, in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
