The Warwick Police Department, in conjunction with the City of Warwick Youth Advisory & Prevention Task Force, is now accepting applications for the 2014 Warwick Youth Leadership Camp. The camp is open to all Warwick youths, both male and female, who are between the ages of 11-14. The camp will be based at the Buttonwoods Community Center, 3027 West Shore Road. There are three camp weeks to choose from: July 15-18, July 22-25 or July 29-Aug.1.
The leadership Camp is an opportunity for youth to build on character traits such as personal responsibility, integrity, honesty, respect, self-confidence, communication, teamwork and of course leadership. This is accomplished through team building workshops in anti-bullying and substance abuse education. The program uses the ropes course offered by U.R.I. and host crime scene investigation at New England Tech’s crime scene lab.
For additional information, those interested in the program should contact Officer Nelson Carreiro at the Warwick Police Department at 468-4200.
