To the Editor,
I'm writing to urge Ward 9 voters to vote for Zach Colón for Warwick City Council.
Even before Mr. Merolla announced he was giving up his seat, Mr. Colón saw that Ward 9, and the city for that matter, needed a stronger candidate who was willing to think outside the box to confront the problems facing the city and make necessary changes that others have not been willing or able to make.
Many of us are tired of the same old same old and Mr. Colón offers real policy proposals, not just generic platitudes.
As a Baby Boomer, I believe a Gen Z candidate will see things with fresh eyes. As a young man of color who is a life-long Warwick resident, Mr. Colón will bring observations and solutions to the table that the current older, all-white City Council members do not comprehend.
I urge Ward 9 residents to contact Zach Colón, speak with him, hear his vision for Warwick and vote for him in the September 8th Democratic primary.
