Colleen S. (Main) Zuckerman, 65, of Warwick passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. This world became a brighter place on August 23, 1957, in Warwick, RI when Colleen was born the daughter of Theresa D. (Tedeschi) Main of Warwick and the late Paul O. Main (2019).
Colleen was studious and an academic overachiever. She received her bachelor's degree from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA, a master’s degree from George Washington University and began studies at Tufts Veterinary School. She was a cytotechnologist at Georgetown and Mass General until health complications and a growing family caused her to go into early retirement.
The first two decades of Colleen’s life were lived in several locations due to her father’s career in the military. Her outgoing personality allowed her to transition into new schools with ease and form an inseparable bond with her sister, Peggy. Colleen had a love for all animals and fostered several strays throughout her life. She was jovial and could easily get the attention of the room with her contagious laughter. Colleen enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed gardening, conversing with others and spending time by the water.
Colleen’s love will live on in her mother Theresa D. Main; her sister Margaret M. “Peggy” Main; four children: Aidan Zuckerman, Abigail Zuckerman, twin brothers Matthew Carne and Benjamin Carne and one nephew, Victor Main. She is also survived by her friend Jill Lanouette.
The visitation and processional gathering will take place on Wednesday, May 31 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick followed with a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church in West Warwick. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Warwick.
