NOT A SINGLE EMPTY SEAT: Rhodes on the Pawtuxet was packed for the celebration. The formal ceremony concluded at 9:30 but with the band playing and what turned out to be a reunion of sorts between classes, teachers and clergy, the last of the guests didn’t leave until midnight.

BRIDGE BETWEEN CLASSES: Fred Connell, former Warwick Ward 1 councilman, left and a member of the Class of 1948 and Joe McGair, former Ward 5 Councilman of the class of 1960 share stories at the celebration. When Connell was a student all the teachers were nuns and the school, which is now three stories, was two stories. Connell remembers the teachers as being attentive and some being “very tough.” McGair is still attached to the school. He wore the watch he was given as a graduation present.
