Rocky Hill Country Day School has seen three of its Upper School students recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, the nation’s longest-running recognition program for creative teens.

Stefania Andreev ’21 was awarded a Gold Key in Art for her Portfolio Experience of War, as well as the American Visions Award for mixed media.

Vivi Bradley ’21 was awarded a Gold Key for the story, Fog, as well as a Silver Key for comic art. Vivi also attained an honorable mention in the painting category.

The third Gold Key recipient is Jiayi Yang ‘21, who was recognized in the Photography section for her photograph, 404, a study of how technology has completely and influenced communication.

“The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are given to students who show exemplary creativity and stand out among their peers for their accomplishments,” said Brady Wheatley, Upper School Division Head. “The RHCD art and literature programs fit copacetically with the criteria for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, as teachers work to encourage individual creativity, exploration and skill development.”

Wheatley said, “The range of artistic work represented by Stefy, Vivi and Bessie reflect the depth of thinking and focused dedication that each student has exemplified."
