Alzheimer's Prevention Registry seeks participants in research effort

Posted

Effective treatment and even prevention of Alzheimer's Disease is closer than ever before, and Butler Hospital’s Memory and Aging Program is at the forefront of that effort. The hospital, however, needs the participation of people with normal memory or mild memory loss who are willing to participate in its research. The Alzheimer's Prevention Registry allows the hospital to match people interested in participating in research, with studies for which they may qualify.

Speak with an Alzheimer’s expert from the Memory and Aging Program about how easy it is for people to join online, and how joining does not mean people are required to participate in any study.

The goal of the Alzheimer's Prevention Registry is to match willing volunteers with Alzheimer's research studies for which they may qualify. People can join the registry by completing a brief, secure, confidential questionnaire online. That information will be used to match them to ongoing and new Alzheimer's research studies. Joining does not mean they are required to participate in any study; it simply means they give permission to be contacted if it appears they may be a good match for a study.

Anyone 40 to 85 years old, can join the Butler Alzheimer’s Prevention Registry. Joining the registry is voluntary and free. Participants do not need to have any memory difficulties to join.

Participants will be contacted and asked questions (such as age and any family history of dementia). Information will be kept safe and private. Participants will be sent opportunities to take part in research studies, and the latest news about Alzheimer’s research.
