Joseph E. Baxter, Jr., a longtime employee of Rhode Island Hospital, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024. He was 59 years of age. Born in Providence, he was the son of Barbara A. (Winters) Baxter and the late Joseph E. Baxter, Sr.
Joe is remembered by his family as a kind and gentle soul who ‘Never Met a Stranger.’ He was born with the Gift of Gab and made friends wherever he went. He loved hunting, fishing, wrestling, NASCAR and could always be found out on the dance floor at a family party. His kind and gentle soul that was full of so much generosity will be missed tremendously by all those that knew and loved him.
He was the cherished brother of Donna M. Caswell (husband, Brian), Barbara A. Verros (husband, Steven), Eve M. Young, and Amy L. Yang (husband, Vong) and the loving and fun uncle to many nieces and nephews. Joe was the devoted companion and best friend of nine years to Betty Ann Iadevaia.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10am in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Interment will immediately follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
