Stop & Shop is giving Warwick families another reason to be thankful. The grocery chain is once again generously donating 200 turkeys and all the sides to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick, which will be distributing them to area families in need Saturday, November 20, between 1:00 and 3:00 pm.
Quantities are limited to one turkey and one bag of sides per family. Any Warwick family is eligible, but the Club does ask people to pre-register by contacting them at 401.467.4385 to ensure there are enough meals for distribution at each of its 2 sites. Interested families can choose to pick up at either the Club’s Norwood branch at 42 Frederick St., or Oakland Beach branch at 340 Oakland Beach Ave.
“We are very excited and grateful that Stop & Shop is once again helping local families during a time in which many people are experiencing significant difficulties and food insecurity due to rising costs,” said CEO Lara D’Antuono. “As climbing supply chain costs are significantly impacting the price of a traditional Thanksgiving meal, Stop & Shop’s donation will go a long way to help struggling families enjoy a traditional holiday meal.”
