Claire T. (Aubin) Dowler, age 96, of Warwick, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Riverview Healthcare Community in Coventry. She was the wife of the late Herbert L. Dowler, Jr. Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late David J. and Elizabeth M. (Quirk) Aubin, she lived in Warwick since 1949. Before retiring, Mrs. Dowler was employed as a waitress at the Rhode Island State House, and later at the former Vallee’s Steak House on Post Road in Warwick. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Kevin Church in Warwick, and a member of St. Kevin’s Women’s Club. She was a member of the Friends of the Warwick Public Library. She is survived by a daughter, Jayne C. Berghorn and her husband Paul, of Warwick; a son, David H. Dowler and his wife Barbara Smith, of Raymond, ME; a grandson, Kevin P. Berghorn and his wife Stephanie, of Southington, CT; her siblings, Ruth Curran of Naples, FL, Richard Aubin of Bonita Springs, FL, Frank Aubin of Sebastian, FL; and Elizabeth Bolvin of North Providence; and several nieces and nephews. Claire was the sister of the late David J. Aubin, Jr., Dorothy Young, and Rita Kilmartin. Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 7, at 9:30 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, March 6, from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
