Posted

Continuing its mission of helping veterans and their families feel better and achieve their goals and dreams, the Dare to Dream Ranch in Foster will hold its Third Annual Yellow Ribbon Gala at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Clients will talk about how donations for services and programs have helped them with their mental health. There will be Quilt of Valor Presentations, which honors veterans who have served, and hear from Board President, Jon Shelburne, USMC (ret).

There will be a presentation of the 2023 Cory Zaranek Community Service Commitment to Excellence Award—given to the individual or individuals that have shown exemplary commitment to moving their mission forward through dedicated volunteerism.

Last year’s event raised $15,000.

Funding helps the Ranch offer all programs and services to clients at no cost. Dare to Dream has hosted pre-, post- and mid- deployment events for RI National Guard families. They also provide recreational therapy for the carnival for heroes and holiday for heroes for the RI National Guard.

Dare to Dream Ranch offers equine therapy, woodworking, fly fishing, deep sea fishing, hunting, two military kids’ summer camps, five-day retreat for male veterans and five-day retreat for female veterans. They also offer whole-day retreats and individual sessions.

Dare to Dream Ranch, a nonprofit military organization, now in its ninth year, offers alternative-therapy programs for service members veterans and their families with PTSD, anxiety, depression, military sexual trauma, mild traumatic brain injury and stroke recovery. They work with men, women and military children. Each year, they work with hundreds between all of their programs.
