July 13, The Oakland Beach Association will hold its monthly meeting this Thursday, July 13, 6 p.m., at the Boys & Girls Club, 340 Oakland Beach Ave., side entrance. Please come with suggestions for community projects we might launch, and for fund-raising events to support them. All residents are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

July 15,  Rhode Island affiliate of the Hearing Loss Association of America will hold next meeting on Saturday, July 15, from 1:30 -2:30 p.m.,  at the Warwick Public Library, 600 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Captioning Provided - CART will be in person. At the meeting HLAA will be introducing  the new Executive Director of RICDHH, Michelle Cline, and hosting a presentation by Sue Black and Claudia Martin on Meniere’s Disease. 

July 15, Drive-Thru Food will be held on Saturday, July 15, at the Spring Green Memorial Church,  1350 Warwick Ave, Warwick, between 11 a.m. and noon, in the parking lot at the back of the church.  If you have any questions, please email the church at springgreenchurch@yahoo.com or call the office at 401-463-8328.

July 15, Marketplace/Food Trucks/Live Music on Saturday, July 15, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., the City of Warwick and Ocean State Food Truck Festivals, will present “We Be Jammin’” with food trucks. On the beautiful back drop of Rocky Point, 1 Rocky Point Ave, Warwick.  “We Be Jammin’” will be front and center with some of RI top Artisan Vendors! Enjoy some of RI’s Best Food and Dessert Trucks to fill your foodie desires!  Black & White Band 12 – 3 p.m.

July 15, Books and Brews Fundraiser, The Friends of the Warwick Public Library will be sponsoring a fundraiser, “Books and Brews” at the Apponaug Brewery, 334 Knight St, Warwick, on Saturday, July 15, from 4 – 6 p.m.  Price: $40 per person, which includes a drink token, flatbread pizza and other light fare.  Come and support The Warwick Public Library. July 16, Summer Days Craft Fair
will be held on Sunday, July 16 at the Knights of Columbus, 475 Sandy Lane, Warwick from 12 – 4 p.m.  Over 30 crafters and vendors!  Raffles!  Grab a bite to eat while you shop.  All proceeds from the raffle table are being donated to Farm Fresh Rhode Island.

July 19, Summer Concert Series/Food Trucks on Wednesday, July 19 from 6 – 8 p.m., at Pawtuxet Village Park, 2 East View Street, Warwick, the City of Warwick presents their Summer Concert Series, so grab your lawn chair, blanket, friends, family and enjoy the evening with music by Mary Day. The music is from 6 – 8 p.m., but the food trucks will be ready at 5 p.m. to purchase your treats before the show begins.

July 20, Music on Main Stroll, on Thursday, July 20, starting at 5 p.m., East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce will hold its Monthly Stroll on Main Street, Main Street, East Greenwich.  This month is Music on the Main Stroll.  Local restaurants and retailers provide side-walk offerings.  Come join a great local gathering!

July 22, The Prout Class of 1973 will hold its 50th reunion on Saturday, July 22, at 12 p.m., at The Prout School, 4640 Tower Hill Road in South Kingstown.  All 1973 graduates are cordially invited to attend. July 26, OSCIL Announces Lunch and Learn Workshop Topic The Ocean State Center for Independent Living, 1944 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, will hold an informative presentation on July 26 from 12 – 1:30 p.m. by a representative from Rhode Island Energy. Find out if you may qualify for discounts on your utility bill(s). They will also be covering payment plan options.  Energy efficiency opportunities and rebates which can lower overall utility costs will also be discussed.  Pizza and beverages will be served. Sept 11, The Comedy Course The Comedy Course is returning for a 6th year, every Monday night for 6-weeks. Three instructors, with over 100 years of combined stage experience, will guide you on a 6-week journey from writing your first joke to performing your debut comedy routine. Oct 14, Annual  No More Hunger Walk A walk to call attention to food insecurity and raise funds for local food pantries  will be held on Saturday, October 14. Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. Over $20,000 has been raised in the past two years. Starting Saturday, September 25, Citizenship Prep Classes at WPL Prepare for the U.S. Naturalization Interview with Citizen Preparation classes at the Warwick Public Library, starting Saturday, September 25, 10:00 a.m. to noon.. Amenity Aid – Volunteers Needed We are looking for volunteers that would like to help us plan and staff community events, organize hygiene product collection drives and raise funds for Amenity Aid.  Amenity Aid’s mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable populations by creating access to essential hygiene products. Serving all of Rhode Island, we distribute toiletry necessities to those most vulnerable through our network of direct service agencies.
