JetBlue announced last week daily nonstop routes between Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) and Fort Myers (RSW) and Tampa (TPA), Florida starting Oct. 27, 2024. The additional routes are part of JetBlue’s broader strategy to grow its presence in New England, providing triple the number of seats from PVD this winter compared to last winter.

“We are thrilled to bring both new routes and increased frequency to Providence, enhancing our service and providing our customers with more choices for their travel needs,” Marty St. George, president of JetBlue, said in a statement. “Whether traveling for leisure or to visit friends and family, our new daily flights to Fort Myers, Tampa, and San Juan will deliver the high-quality experience and convenience that JetBlue is known for.”

JetBlue also offers nonstop service from PVD to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and West Palm Beach, which will increase to twice daily for the winter travel season. JetBlue also recently announced that they will commence daily, nonstop service between PVD and Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, beginning on Oct. 28, 2024. This marks the first time that PVD has offered nonstop scheduled flights to Puerto Rico. Flights to SJU are currently scheduled to depart PVD at 7 a.m., with the return flight arriving at 10:24 p.m. in Rhode Island.

SJU also offers connecting service to several domestic and international Caribbean destinations such as St. Croix and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, and the Dominican Republic, as well as flights to other destinations in Puerto Rico including Culebra, Mayagüez and Vieques.
