Mayoral debate slated for Oct. 6

Posted

In consideration of Yom Kippur and a rescheduling request, the mayoral debate that had been planned for this Monday will now be held Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 4 p.m. at the Warwick Public Library. Because of the pandemic and the resulting regulations there is no provision for an audience. The hour-long debate will be live streamed over the Warwick Beacon and the Warwick Public Library Facebook pages. It will be recorded and available for view at any time.

Incumbent Mayor Joseph J. Solomon and independent Frank Picozzi will each be given five minutes for opening and three minutes for closing remarks. Questions prepared by the Warwick Beacon and those submitted by email to the paper will be read by Beacon editor John Howell, who will act as moderator. There being more than 50 submitted questions, Howell is hopeful of moving the debate along to answer as many as possible. The debate is sponsored by the Beacon and hosted by the library.
