When Engine 6 of the Warwick Fire Department pulled up to Hoxsie School Monday it was greeted by lots of excited students. No, there wasn’t a fire or even a fire drill. From accounts the kids knew what would happen next and they weren’t disappointed. As the school’s traditional end of the year fire hose soak dictates, firefighters pulled out hoses and sent a stream skyward. No prompting was needed, student ran through the stream under the watchful eye of Principal Gary McCoombs , who is pictured here with a firefighter. (Photos courtesy of Ross McLendon)
