Greenwood residents conducted a cleanup Saturday around Gorton’s Pond. They found no shortage of litter from Dunkin Donuts cups, beer bottles, a plethora of nip bottles and even a few fishing lures. City Council President Steve McAllister, who joined the crew with Rep. David Bennett, informed the group a new Welcome to Gorton’s Pond sign will be erected soon and a sitting bench will be installed on the fishing pier paid for with the community APRA funds. McAllister said the city is also looking to fixing up the pond boat ramp. (Photo courtesy of Steve McAllister)
