Oliver Perry ranked 9th in Hendricken’s Class of 2024

Posted

Oliver Perry is ranked ninth in the Class of 2024. In the fall, Perry will be entering the United States Coast Guard Academy and will major in civil engineering.

While at Hendricken, Perry was captain of the soccer team. He was also a part of the Leadership Academy, the Ambassador’s Club, peer tutoring, math peer tutoring, and was a Tutor at the writing center.

Perry was named in the Providence Journal’s Second Team All-State in soccer. He was also named to the RIBSCA Division I First Team All-Division in soccer. Perry was a two-time Bishop Hendricken High School Soccer Unsung Hero Award recipient, an AP Scholar, a National Honor Society member, and a Mu Alpha Theta National Mathematical Honor Society Member.

When asked what motivates him, Perry said his parents “I always see how much sacrifice they make to send me to Hendricken, and to help me succeed in soccer and in school.”

“My parents, my coaches, and teachers” are who he contributes his success to.

Hanging out with friends is what he will remember most about high school. “I will remember having fun with the guys I’ve made life-long friendships with,” said Perry.

Editor’s Note: The above write up failed to appear in the profiles of the Hendricken Top 10 that ran in the July 4 edition of the Warwick Beacon. Our apology to the Perry family and to Oliver who has already started training.
