July 11: Just an update on signatures for Mayor Picozzi’s nomination papers. He submitted more than the 200 required last week on the third day and they have been verified. The mayor’s name will be on the ballot in November. He has secured a location for campaign headquarters and will be posting more about that in the near future. The mayor has also been contacting residents on main roads that allow him to put up campaign signs four years ago and all of them have said that they wanted another sign this fall.

Tomorrow the Warwick Fire Department will be conducting swimmer rescue training at Conimicut Point. Please don’t be alarmed by the activity. Again, it is just training.

July 13: It was an honor and a privilege for Mayor Picozzi to attend and speak at this morning’s ceremony commemorating the naming of George Sears Greene Way. The General is Warwick’s very own Civil War hero. A big shoutout to Pegee Malcolm and the members of the Warwick Historical Cemetery Committee for putting on this ceremony and all their tireless efforts to preserve this city’s rich history.

July 14: Today is the Tenders for Tomorrow Dinghy Poker Run to benefit the The Tomorrow Fund. Mayor Picozzi can’t give enough thanks to the hardworking and dedicated volunteers and the participants. There’s a great turnout and a lot of money is being raised to help families with a child battling cancer.

July 16: Mayor Picozzi was the first customer today at the newest Shake Shack located at 989 Centerville Road and he wants to tell you the vanilla shake is outstanding! Before that, they cut the ribbon. This is Shake Shack’s 3rd restaurant in Rhode Island and is sure to be a huge hit! The new location will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Guests will be able to order directly in store and via drive-thru lanes. Come check it out!
