With new pumps, piping and a heater, Mayor Frank Picozzi had the honors of opening the hydrant to refill McDermott swimming pool last Friday. Now brimming with 300,000 gallons, Picozzi said Tuesday a reopening to the public will be scheduled once the water has been properly treated and tested and all systems have been checked out. The pool was closed prior to the pandemic and getting back on line has required the replacement of multiple components that were long overdue for replacement. It is an indeterminate amount of time before the satellite smaller therapeutic pool reopens. It is in need of resurfacing. (Warwick Beacon photos)
