The Rhode Island State Police will host a recruitment event this Saturday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the John H. Chafee Building at the CCRI Newport campus.

"This Saturday, potential candidates can meet our Troopers at CCRI in Newport and discuss a career with the Rhode Island State Police," Colonel Darnell S. Weaver, superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and director of the Department of Public Safety, said in a statement. "We are seeking exceptional candidates with diverse backgrounds to join our agency. This event will give interested applicants an opportunity to learn more about what we do every day."

At the event, potential candidates can speak with Troopers from a variety of different specialty units and learn more about a career with the Rhode Island State Police.
