Ronald T. Russell, 85, a retired tool maker, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the West Shore Health Center. He was the beloved husband of Frances A. (Amadio) Russell for 58 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Edward T. and Marguarite (Lapre) Russell. Ronald was the loving father of Bryan E. Russell (Edward), Mark G. Russell (Michelle) and Scott G. Russell (Brenda); loving grandfather of Meaghan, Caitlin, Aidan, Brooke, and Corissa; loving great-grandfather of Aurora. He was the brother of Richard Russell and Elaine Russell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Ronald served his country honorably for the US Navy during the Vietnam War and Cuban Crisis. He served on the USS Intrepid. He was a graduate of Warwick Veteran’s High School and received his Associate’s Degree from Johnson and Wales University.
His visitation will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 9-10:30am with a service at 10:30am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hasbro Children’s Research Hospital, 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02903, will be appreciated.
