The opening of Sherman School has been delayed to Sept. 8 to allow crews to rid the school of mold that built up when a ventilating system failed to open during this unusually moist summer. The cleanup, performed by Alliance and Single Source, is expected to be completed this week to allow for faculty and staff to return to the building in time for the opening next week. Superintendent Lynn Dambruch said Wednesday personnel would be permitted back in the school as soon as test results show no sign of mold. Because of the delayed opening, the school will make up the lost days by closing later next June. (Warwick Beacon photo)
