While hundreds or walkers and runners weren’t at the starting line Thanksgiving morning at City Park for the annual Warwick Rotary 5K Turkey Trot, the virtual event was a success raising more than $5,000 for club charities. Half the funds were earmarked for the Rhode Island Critical Incident Stress TEAM that works with first responders, caregivers and others faced with traumatic incidents. Club President, Dan Scanlon at left presented a check to TEAM organizers John and Kathy Nottell and Dr. Anne Balboni. At right, is Tom Sanford, who founded the Rotary Turkey Trot and continues to run it. The TEAM also connected with club member Pastor Tanner Green of South Point Church who has answered the group’s need to find a place to hold its training sessions. (Warwick Beacon photo)
