A total of $4,500 raised from the Warwick Rotary Club Turkey Trot held Thanksgiving was donated Thursday to the Rhode Island Disaster Medical Assistance Team's Medical Reserve Corps. The all-volunteer group have run countless Covid-19 vaccination and testing sites beginning with the shutdown in March 2020. Brooke Lawrence, executive director, said the donation would be used for fleeces and jackets for the volunteers. Lawrence, at right, is pictured with Rotary Club president Steve Hinger, at left and Tom Sanford, who organized the trot that saw more than 350 participants. The other half of the funds raised will go toward other Warwick Rotary charitable endeavors. (Warwick Beacon photo)
