A brief service in recognition of Veterans Day was held Friday on the steps to City Hall. The observance was organized by retired Navy officer Rep. Camille Vella Wilkinson and attended by state and city officials. Members of the color guard paused to read the names on the statue of the World Ward I doughboy in front of City Hall. Veterans Day, formerly called Armistice Day to commemorate the end of WWI that, at the time, was called “the war to end all wars.” Unfortunately, that was not to be. (Warwick Beacon photos)
